Dance Marathon is a 24-hour event that celebrates the culmination of a year's worth of fundraising efforts for Palmetto Health Children's Hospital, located here in Columbia, South Carolina.

The event DOES NOT require the ability to dance; instead, it consists of 24-hours worth of games, contests, food, entertainment, theme hours (with costumes highly encouraged), memories, and learning an easy and fun dance throughout the course of the event. Dancers are also given the chance to hear from and meet miracle families from Palmetto Health Children's Hospital, who visit regularly to offer encouragement, support and thanks to the dancers.

The event is open to students (and faculty!) at the University of South Carolina and will take place at Strom Thurmond Fitness and Wellness Center on February 19-20 from 7 PM to 7 PM. Dancers may participate as individuals or in groups, and may stay for the entire 24 hours (highly suggested), or may come in six-hour shifts. We ask that each dancer work to raise $150 in funds for Palmetto Health Children's Hospital.

Registration is $25 and includes three meals, snacks, and a t-shirt. Click here to join over 1,200 USC students for "The Party with a Purpose."
