What is USCDM?

USCDM is the largest-student run philanthropy on campus. It is an annual 24-hour event held in February that celebrates the culmination of efforts to raise financial and emotional support for the patients of Palmetto Health Children's Hospital, located here in Columbia.

Who Does USCDM support?

USCDM supports Palmetto Health Children's Hospital, Columbia's local Children's Miracle Network hospital. The hospital is the largest freestanding children's hospital in the state, serving over 80,000 children throughout the state of South Carolina.

What goes on at USCDM?

Participants in USCDM learn a line dance throughout the course of the event. Additionally, they partake in food, games, contests and competitions. Participants enjoy entertainment from great bands, comedians and performance groups. Additionally, miracle families visit the participants throughout the event, reminding them of how much their efforts really do save lives.

I can't dance. Why on earth would I want to participate in USCDM?

USCDM does NOT require the ability to dance. Participants learn a line dance over the course of the event, but also take part in a wealth of other activities.

Isn't Dance Marathon just a Greek thing?

No! Dance Marathon is open to any student, graduate student or even faculty member of the USC community. We promise fun for everyone!

Who can participate in DM?

ANYONE can participate in USCDM. Boys, girls, non-Greeks, Greeks, organizations, individuals- we promise that no matter who you are, you will have a great time at the event!

Do I have to stay for the entire 24 hours?

While we would love for you to stay and party with us for the whole 24 hours, we do offer six-hour shift options. When you register for the event, you will select which option you would prefer.
