ONE TEAM, ONE DREAM
USCDM is a dynamic force, composed of over 250 students united by a singular mission — to bring hope, joy and lasting change to the lives of children at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital — Midlands. As a student-run organization, USCDM creates an empowering environment where students from all backgrounds, majors and years can cultivate leadership skills, forge meaningful connections and make a tangible impact.
Throughout the year, these dedicated students come together across various staff committees to organize and execute on- and off-campus fundraising events, volunteer their time and contribute to a cause much larger than themselves. From the executive board to staff and everyone in between, there is a shared commitment to transforming lives, driven by a collective passion for service and a desire to make lasting change. With this in mind, USCDM’s internal member base is referred to as “One Team, One Dream,” symbolizing a strength in numbers to achieve something miraculous.
LEADERSHIP
EXECUTIVE BOARD
The executive board of USCDM spearheads the year-long campaign. Made up of eight student leaders, each member of the executive board works with their respective directors to plan and execute a wide variety of events and activities aimed at bringing together the USC campus and Columbia community through education, relationship building and high-impact programming.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Directors have the unique opportunity to work closely with the executive board members of their branch and lead the activities of their committee throughout the year to achieve a variety of tasks and projects. The specific responsibilities of a director vary based on the committee's needs and focus throughout the year leading up to Main Event. Applications open in March on Garnet Gate and are followed by an interview with the executive board.

STAFF
Staff committees are the feet on the ground for the organization. Committee members are an essential part of USCDM’s year-round planning and execute a variety of tasks throughout the year to make the organization’s Main Event successful. Applications open in March on Garnet Gate and are followed by an interview with the board of directors, which takes place virtually during the summer.

MORALE
Morale acts as the “hype squad” for USCDM, bringing the energy everywhere it goes. A main feature of Morale is creating the annual line dance to be taught at Main Event, which brings together internal members and heroes for a memorable experience. At each USCDM event, Morale provides the necessary encouragement to fuel fundraising efforts. As the largest branch in the organization, Morale also helps out the rest of OTOD wherever possible and helps spread the word to campus about USCDM, thereby serving as an extension of the campus branch as this team helps recruit new heroes and improve engagement. Applications open in August on Garnet Gate and are followed by an interview with the leaders of Morale.

IGNITE
Ignite plays a critical role in the foundation of USCDM, providing mentorship and training to those new to the organization to help them find their place and set goals. By fostering a welcoming environment for freshmen and sophomores, each is provided the resources to develop their leadership skills and encourage retention in the organization as a whole. Applications open in August on Garnet Gate and are followed by an interview with the leaders of Ignite.
