The president stands as the leader of the organization, leading the charge and representing USCDM in numerous capacities both on and off campus. In working with the eight-member student executive board, the president helps develop new and creative ideas to carry out the vision of USCDM. As the head of the organization, the president sets goals for USCDM to spark growth and inspire action. The president also meets with the organization’s three external advisors, USC Campus, CMN Hospitals and Prisma Health Foundation, to ensure the organization meets national and local standards. The president also leads the Inclusion Committee to ensure all voices of USCDM are represented, heard and supported.

The vice president of campus relations acts as a liaison between the USC communities and USCDM, helping oversee recruitment and partnerships with on-campus organizations. This vice president needs to have a vision for the recruitment and retention of new heroes of USCDM as well as hero experience and stewardship. Therefore, maintaining connections and promoting USCDM events to these external groups is important. This role serves as both the megaphone to heroes but also their representation on the executive board. The vice president of campus relations leads the Greek Relations Committee, Outreach Committee, Registered Student Organizations Committee, Recruitment Committee and Morale.

The vice president of communications builds and maintains the USCDM brand by overseeing all public relations, marketing and design functions. Communications weaves the year’s campaign into all content produced, ensuring consistency and recognizability. In bringing the USCDM vision to life and helping spread its mission throughout the community, communications safeguard the reputation of the organization and keep all audiences informed of its activities on all platforms, including social media, news media and campus outlets. The vice president of communications leads the Public Relations Committee, Design Committee, Merchandise Committee, Social Media Committee and Multimedia Committee.

The vice president of community relations strives to keep the Columbia community beyond campus engaged. The goal of this branch is to inform the city of Columbia of USCDM and encourage them to invest in the cause. This role is focused on retaining and growing these relationships while also expanding the community network. The vice president of community relations has the vision to grow the program beyond USC’s campus and tie external groups into campus efforts throughout the year. The vice president of community relations leads the Mini Marathon Committee and Community Engagement Committee.

The vice president of finance is primarily responsible for forecasting weekly revenues and implementing benchmarks to achieve fundraising goals by tracking internal and external progress. This role oversees all fundraising and assists in developing in-depth fundraising plans on and off-campus to incentivize fundraising efforts. The vice president of finance leads the Analytics Committee and Fundraising Committee.

The vice president of miracle relations is the direct line of communication between the USCDM community, the hospital and our Miracle Families. This position works with the Child Life Team to engage members of the organization with the hospital, such as through hospital tours, activity days, holiday parades and volunteering. In demonstrating a clear understanding of the cause at hand and the mission of USCDM, this role creates cause connection and shares the stories of Miracle Kids as well as hospital updates. The vice president of miracle relations leads the Family Relations Committee and Hospital Relations Committee.

The vice president of membership development fosters strong and meaningful relationships between internal team members to promote a unified effort. This role plans and facilitates bonding events and implements a vision for the recruitment and retention of new members. Given that leadership development is essential to USCDM, this role also manages the Ignite program, an introductory program designed for first and second-year students to learn about USCDM and see themselves in a future leadership role. The vice president of membership development leads the IGNITE team and Membership Engagement Committee.

The vice president of productions helps plan and coordinate events throughout the year. This role demonstrates creativity with how to plan events as these must both represent the values and mission of USCDM while also stewarding the internal team and engaging students across campus. This role communicates with many professionals who host USCDM events and those who attend as well. For each event, productions put together programming, timelines and staffing to ensure each is carried out at a high level and every internal branch is represented, especially at Main Event. Additionally, in working with the campus team, this role plays a large part in planning external engagement opportunities to build USCDM’s support base. The vice president of productions leads the Internal and External Productions Committees.
